Text 25 Jun All the lonely people…

Greetings all it is that time of evening where my creativity escapes me and whatever is left is thrown on this page. I had a thought this afternoon while I was driving to work. I live in a medium sized town but not large by any means. The thought came to me while I was passing a decent amount of traffic going in the other direction. There are a little more than Seven Billion people in the world and to me that number is absolutely amazing. Even more amazing is the thought that as an individual you are almost the equivalent of a grain of sand on the beach. Seven BILLION people wake up every day and go about living their lives whether that be working, playing, fighting for freedom, or who knows what else. Throughout our lives we will most likely not get to meet most of these people as we will stay in our own little bubble of friends and family. I really want to travel and meet new types of people from all around the world. If I could find a job that would allow me to do this and also pursue technology that would be an amazing mix.

Text 24 Jun Summer skies and purple dragons.

Good evening all! Well another day has passed and here are my collective thoughts. HTML is awesome as I started learning it today. I’m very excited for learning even more about it. I came across this statement today and it kind of irked me. “I can’t believe the way God made some people” was the phrase. To me this sort of thinking is very very annoying to say the least. It just shows the hate and disrespect people show towards each other. Everyone was created equal and in a unique and amazing way. I understand why people tend to not get along but it doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t try to be better people. So i challenge my readers to appreciate others differences and just be nice to people. That’s it for today.

See ya!

Text 21 Jun TV is much better when you turn on your set.

And here we are the ending of another day. It always seems to amaze me with how fast time seems to pass. Progressively as I have aged I have made the assumption that time is constant yes, but it appears to go by at a more rapid pace as we age. This is neither good or bad just an observation. For the first time ever I reinstalled my Mac today. I was a little concerned at first but I knew I had all of my files backed up so I wasn’t too worried. Luckily the process went fairly smooth and I accomplished the goal of the reinstall which was to bootcamp windows 7 pro to run Adobe CS5.5. This will allow me to work on some of my projects on my own machine rather than having to borrow my brothers. I also am going to start venturing into the vast world of HTML. It has been way too long since I have seen code and I need a project so there it is. Almost all of the things I learn I will be incorporating into this blog so hey thats good and bad news for you. Good news is you may get to see some cool design and animation features in the future. The bad news is I may be breaking my site a lot at least at first. I have always been a trial and error type of individual so I guess we will see how this goes. I am pretty excited about it though. That is all folks I need to get some shut eye so I can actually be productive tomorrow and shake off the zombie like tired stage that comes over me when I stay up late and have to get up early.

See ya!

Text 21 Jun Longest day of the year.

Today literally was the longest day of the year. This is also known as the summer solstice. I am very much intrigued with the stars, galaxies and the universe as a whole. Thinking on all of this makes you feel so small and insignificant quite the contrary to our usual perspective on life. But it is only downhill from here, after today days grow shorter and winter creeps closer to coming and ruining summer. What other news is there. O yes today I was having lunch with and meeting my friend for coffee when something crazy happened. We were talking about music and A Day To Remember came up in our conversation. I am a big fan of their music and he is as well. The lady sitting behind us gets up to leave but before she does says that she heard us talking about ADTR and that her UNCLE is the manager or ADTR!!!!!!!! I was completely blown away this was incredible that some random coffee shop chick has these sort of connections. She even took my friends notepad and wrote down her email so he could contact her and she would send the information to her uncle so that he could see their stuff!!! Talk about wicked cool that is definitely it. I am still searching for an IT position to keep my occupied over the summer but if I don’t happen to find one I am ok with the work I am doing now. With so many people still not having jobs I am grateful for the jobs I do have. I also had a great date tonight with my new friend. Overall it was a great great day and to make it even beter I don’t have to work in the sweaty pizza shop tomorrow. So there you are my “followers” a quick synopsis of my day. Twas a good one and I always look forward to what tomorrow will bring.

See ya!

Text 19 Jun A piece of my brain to you (i hear its beter to eat when cooked first)

This post is dedicated to a thought that came across my brain while I was making pizza this evening. As most of you know (those who actually know me) I am constantly amazed by and am working with technology. Now anymore there comes a point where technology is being almost over utilized to the point where it is changing the way humans live. What I mean by this is the buzz syndrome. Let me elaborate. Does anyone else feel their phone buzz or hear it ring and realize that there actually wasn’t a notification or message. I experience this on a regular basis and it has grown to more than annoying. I don’t know if this is an anxiety related thing or what but how did we get to this point? Where we are so connected to our phones that our bodies are sending us signals to answer our notifications even when they don’t exist. So there is a rant on that let me know if anyone else suffers from this “disease.” In other news life is still good. Chad helped me do some more photoshop images for the professional blog today. I also have my office setup in a better fashion to write and do tech projects more efficiently.

So there you have it a slice of insight into the brain of troy

I recommend you cook it first as raw brain is just gross (not that I would know…..)

See ya!

Text 18 Jun Day 2

I’ve been waiting all day to write this post. I thought it would be a lot harder to force myself into this new routine but luckily it has been an easy change thus far. So what is new my fans o wait there are no fans yet…. I’ll have to work on that part. Anyways it has been a great day. I bought a used 22” monitor for some tech needs of mine for a steal so that always is a good addition the day. Also I am to the point where I have regained the love what you do mentality. Writing for several blogs and promoting my side business is really really awesome! What else is there…. That’s it I’ve started using Photoshop. I am still very much a beginner but I want to learn so much more. So far I’ve only partially made a few logos and my brother has helped me as well. Trying to keep a positive outlook and looking forward to keeping the blog going.

random fact of the day:  An Amoeba common in warm water can travel up your nose while you are swimming and live in your brain, where it multiplies rapidly and kills you in three to seven days. This is from dailyrandomfact.com

that is all my “fans” if you are out there please inform me so i can interact with you and not feel so crazy lol

See ya!

Text 17 Jun Calling planet EaRtH…

Hello once again. I know that probably no one is reading this so its cool I will just have a side conversation with myself. It has been waaaaaay too long since I have blogged and I am doing something new from now on I am going to try and blog at least once a day. Whether that be on this space, or over on Troy Tech Guru some original content from my brain to you will be delivered on a daily basis. There are multiple reasons for this. First, I love to write. Second, I consider it a challenge because like most young adults I would say that I have a fairly busy life style and this might be a nice speed bump sometime throughout my day. Lastly I’m a hipster….. Just kidding. Anyways this should be fun I will provide a blog about tech or something not tech related daily (maybe I’ll write about armadillos one day they have always fascinated me) so leave a comment if you like and even if you don’t particularlly like it I would love some audience feedback. So thanks for participating in this scientific experiment. (Sorry you probably won’t be compensated as I am about to be a poor college kid soon)

See ya!

Link 18 Dec 30 notes Why do American Christians impose their own political beliefs on God?»

flagless:

By David McElroy

Jesus wasn’t an American. He’s not a Democrat. He’s not a Republican. He’s not asking you to vote for a “pro-family agenda.” He’s also not calling you to elect politicians to achieve “social justice.” These things are news to some people.

There’s absolutely no reason to think God even wants you to vote. You’re lying to yourself and to others if you superimpose your own political views onto God — no matter what your beliefs are.

It’s been common throughout history for nations to claim that God was on their side, regardless of what they called God and regardless of what the rest of their theological beliefs were. Whatever “our side” did was favored by God — or the gods or Allah or whatever they called their deity. If you’re a Christian and you’re doing this today, you’re engaging in blasphemy, because you’re claiming to speak for God — and you’re just making things up and claiming they’re from Him.

I don’t have the exact quote anymore, but I once heard talk radio host Ian Punnett say that for many people, God is simply themselves with a deeper voice. Sadly, that’s true.

For Christians who hold conservative political positions, they somehow manage to come to the conclusion that God believes exactly what they do. What a relief. God wants a strong government to control people’s morality, but He also likes invading foreign countries that have those dirty people who talk funny and aren’t much like us. (He obviously didn’t really mean those things about loving enemies, so it’s safe to ignore those things as we cheer people being blown up and prisoners being tortured by the U.S. government.)

For Christians who hold progressive liberal positions, they somehow manage to come to the conclusion that God also believes exactly what they believe. Who would have thought? This saves them the trouble of having to think about any conflicts between their own political goals and what God wants of them. God wants a strong government which takes things from “greedy people” and gives things to poor people. Jesus talked about helping poor people, so He obviously wants us to force other people to obey what He said. Right?

When you worship God in these ways — and define Jesus in these terms — you’re creating your own god. Whoever that is who you have in your mind isn’t the Jesus of the Gospels. He’s your own creation — and that god seems an awful lot like you — just with a deeper voice.

If you call yourself a conservative, I challenge you to find a single example in the Gospels in which Jesus suggested the use of force to get anyone to obey Him. (Hint: You won’t find such an example.) Jesus isn’t calling for the FCC to stamp out obscenity or for police to arrest gay people or use force to stop people from making porn. Those are your positions, not His.

If you call yourself a progressive, I challenge you to find a single example in which Jesus suggested that His followers use force to ensure that other people obeyed the commands He gave to His own followers. (Hint: You won’t find any.) Jesus doesn’t “love the public option” or favor universal health care or whatever else you want to superimpose on Him. Those are your positions, not His.

You do understand that government is simply force, don’t you? Without force, the coercive state couldn’t function, because it would have to depend on people’s voluntary co-operation. And if people are to be allowed to do what they want (so long as they don’t violate other people’s rights or property), well, the state isn’t necessary in the first place.

If you’re a Christian, God has called you to live in certain ways and be certain things. He’s called us to help the poor and to quit worshipping our own pampered and luxurious lifestyles. (On this particular subject, I highly recommend a book by my own pastor challenging Christians to live a “Radical” lifestyle instead of the modern American materialist dream.) God has called us to be holy and moral people. But you won’t find one single example of Jesus suggesting that a government enforce the commands that He gave to His own followers. No, that’s the part that you and your friends (and your enemies) have added all on your own.

A friend told me this week that his own pastor recently said during a sermon that people who don’t vote are “almost sinning.” This pastor believes that not voting is somehow a violation of the command to love our neighbor. In other words, we are supposed to show we love some of our neighbors by having people use violence (or threat of violence and punishment) to arbitrarily steal money from other neighbors. That’s not following God. That’s simply finding ways to pretend that God supports what you wanted to do anyway.

God calls Christians to do certain things with their lives. He never calls us to force other people to obey His commands. If you’re using the name of God to justify using the coercive state to achieve what you want, you’re not serving God. You’re falsely speaking in His name and adding things to the Bible that just aren’t there.

Stick to what Jesus actually said. We have a long way to go before we’re living as He called us to live. Even if it were legitimate to force other people to live in accordance with Jesus’ teachings — which it isn’t — don’t we have a responsibility to live it first? We’re a long way from obeying Him ourselves.

Let’s quit trying to pretend that we’re qualified to give people orders in God’s name. We’re not qualified to do that and we never will be.
